Ponca Pines Academy is dedicated to helping young women find meaning in their lives, form fulfilling relationships and experience a successful transition into adulthood.

We embrace the Sanctuary Model® of treatment for our young women and their families. Founded by Sandra Bloom, M.D., in 1980, this full-system approach to treatment has currently been adopted by more than 86 programs in three countries. Ponca Pines Academy has received designation as a Certified Sanctuary Program.

The Sanctuary Model helps to provide a safe, positive environment where young women can begin to explore the past and create their own healthy, unique path to the future. It provides a compass for change by focusing on
S.E.L.F.: Safety, Emotions, Loss and Future.

Safety – physical, psychological, social and moral
Emotions – healthy expression of emotion and emotional management
Loss – loss of what may have been and/or actual personal loss
Future – planning and hope for the future

At Ponca Pines Academy, the process of addressing the whole person allows young women the ability to access a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships with others, and their world. This knowledge will remain with them and assist them as they transition into a more independent future.
